New Cuisine: Sustainable Foodservice & Culinary Summit

Plant-Based food trends are constantly expanding and the market is full of possibilities for food service operators and innovators.

The rise in awareness about health, climate change, and animal welfare has accelerated the attraction toward plant-food food innovation, and during recent years new vegan-friendly restaurants are being opened everywhere. 

ProVeg International and Worldchefs are here to bring you the first event of its kind. The “New Cuisine: Sustainable Foodservice & Culinary Summit” will take place in Hangzhou on November 4-5, 2021, and over 300 Chefs from all around the world will be able to join the Summit virtually. 

International Michelin Starred Chefs and successful restaurateurs will discuss the benefits of going plant-based, plant nutrition and health, plant-based culinary creativity and innovation, tea and food pairing, sustainable cooking, and how to market plant-based foods. 

Participants will receive a certificate of attendance and will be able to showcase their knowledge and support to the booming plant-based movement. Reserve your place by registering and don’t forget to share with your network!

Where: Zoom & Hangzhou – The Summit will be held in Hangzhou, China, but will be live streamed on Zoom so you can join from wherever you are using a PC, tablet or even your smartphone.

The 23rd FHC China International Culinary Arts Young Chef Online Competition

Young Chefs and rising culinary competitors around the globe: join us for an inspiring competition experience!

Food & Hotel China (FHC) together with Worldchefs Young Chefs committee are bringing the FHC competition to Young Chefs online. Showcase your talent and creativity in an international arena!

Build your culinary expertise, gain exposure to a competitive environment, and have fun! Winners and participants will also receive a Worldchefs digital badge to share on social media and professional profiles.

Apply to be a Competitor

  • Who can participate: All Competitors must be under 25 years (born after October 1996)
  • Entry fee: The registration fee for each competitor is EURO 20, a direct donation to World Chefs Without Borders. Participants must complete payment before the registration deadline and submit proof of payment with their Application Form.
  • How to apply: Complete the Application Form and submit proof of payment together by email.
  • Registration deadline: October 1 2021

When you finish the registration and payment, you will receive a Competitor Number and more details on the competition process.

Scoring Structure

The scoring structure of the competition is divided into In Classroom Judges scoring and Online Judges scoring: The In Classroom Judges scoring will be mainly measured by three aspects: Hygiene, Work Preparation and Taste; while Online Judges scoring will be judged upon two dimensions: Presentation and Recipe. After two rounds of scoring, the contestants will be awarded digital badges, issued by Worldchefs, according to their scores. 100 will be awarded with Gold with Distinction, 90-99 will be awarded with Gold Medal, 80-89 will be awarded with Silver Medal whereas 70-79 will be awarded with Bronze Medal.

Competition Structure

FHC International Western Cuisine Challenge, FHC International Chinese Cuisine Challenge, FHC International Pastry Challenge, FHC International Bakery Challenge and FHC International Young Chefs Challenge is 5 competition categories that belongs to the FHC China International Culinary Arts Competition. According to the rules of the Worldchefs and awarded Worldchefs certified digital badges and certificates.

The FHC International Culinary Arts Young Chef Online Competition is complemented by an onsite Worldchefs endorsed culinary competition taking place at FHC 2021, November 9 – 11 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) China:

This competition has been successfully held at the FHC for 22 sessions, and it is the only officially certified International Level-A Culinary Competition by Worldchefs in China.

Join Worldchefs Culinary Competition Chairman Rick Stephens to learn about scoring categories such as mise en place, professional preparation, presentation, and taste.

Ningbo International Young Chefs Challenge(NIYCC)

Located in the coast of East China Sea, Ningbo Gulin Vocational Advanced School is a provincial key vocational school with a long history. It mainly has four majors namely cooking, pre-school education, arts, and e-commerce, among which, cooking is the biggest one. In 2018, the school is entitled the honor of national cooking training base of World Skills Competition and with strong support from World Association and the effort of Dr.Rick Stephen CMC, it also successfully held the first International Young Chefs Challenge, where culinary talents from all over the world displayed their masterly skills.
