For Chefs at Every Career Stage

As part of Worldchefs’ mission to empower the next generation of industry leaders, the 2026 Congress program was thoughtfully created to provide transformative experiences for chefs at all stages of their careers, with special opportunities for young chefs.

During the May 2026 event, the Worldchefs Global Development of Young Chefs Committee will unveil a new Young Chef mentorship toolkit, developed to provide structured guidance to culinary associations so that they can better resource young chefs globally.

“I’ve been lucky enough to go to Worldchefs Congress two times… and they were two of the most incredible experiences that I’ve had. Being able to meet other young chefs from different countries and nationalities with the same common goal of learning—it’s such a fun experience.”

– Angelica Iuliano, Worldchefs Young Chefs Ambassador Mentor

SESSIONS to unite global movements

The Bill Gallagher Young Chefs Forum is one of the ways in which Worldchefs Congress & Expo 2026 builds upon Worldchefs’ ongoing efforts to empower the next generation. This includes its collaboration on the World Food Forum’s Young Chefs Programme, launched in 2025, which engages young culinary professionals worldwide to inspire and guide other chefs to advocate for more sustainable and healthier consumption habits.

Through projects like this, Worldchefs has strengthened its collaboration with key international bodies including the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and other global coalitions.

Reflecting these growing partnerships, Worldchefs Congress & Expo 2026 will mark the first time that United Nations leadership will be present, with Kazuki Kitaoka, Director for Youth & Women at FAO, addressing delegates and participating in the session Cooking Up the Future: What’s in Store for the Next Gen.

Further highlighting international collaboration, the session FoodChoices4Life: A new opportunity to connect, act, and inspire will also provide delegates with insights and ways to get involved in FoodChoices4LIFE, a new initiative co-funded by the European Commission that empowers citizens to accelerate climate action and behavioral change in food systems.

On the final day of the program, Worldchefs will also introduce its collaboration with World Central Kitchen, building upon the current efforts of World Chefs Without Borders to proactively position chefs to play a powerful role in disaster response across the globe.

A Platform for Learning

Knowledge-sharing and skill building are essential functions of Worldchefs Congress & Expo, with educational sessions allowing all delegates to engage with leading experts at presentations and masterclasses.

Specialized programming is also offered to culinary educators, including Worldchefs extensive global network of Education Partners.

“Worldchefs Congress is, at its core, an educational event. Every session is a chance to learn, either from some of the most respected leaders in our industry or from new and diverse voices bringing fresh perspectives in. It’s an opportunity for exchange between chefs from around the world, sharing ideas, experiences, and cultures. With our education partners also playing a key role, Congress becomes a truly global classroom and inspires, challenges, and helps move our profession forward. Nothing like breaking bread with all your friends from around the world! Don’t get left behind.”

– Charles M. Carroll  CEC, AAC, Worldchefs Congress Committee Chairman

educators’ Forum

The Worldchefs Educators’ Forum is built for culinary educators and academic leaders to explore how culinary education must evolve to meet the realities of today’s industry, and tomorrow’s.

The forum’s 2026 theme, Redesigning the Culinary Curriculum: What Must Change by 2030?, brings together voices from across the association’s global network to ask the question: If we designed culinary schools’ curriculum from scratch today, what would it look like?

Attendees are invited to participate and contribute their diverse perspectives for a global dialogue on how educators, training institutions, and industry leaders can proactively shape curricula for the next generation of chefs.

The Forum, along with extensive programming geared towards education and future-proofing skills, is a key venue for conversation around the future of culinary education and career pathways during Worldchefs Congress & Expo.

Join the Albanian Chefs & Cooks Association in Celebrating International Chefs Day

International Chefs Day is just around the corner on October 20th. Established in 2004 by the late Chef Dr. Bill Gallagher, this global celebration honors the culinary profession and inspires the next generation. Each year, chefs around the world share their passion for cooking and promote healthy eating in their communities.

Since joining Worldchefs in 2018, the Albanian Chefs & Cooks Association has enthusiastically embraced this mission. Known locally in Albania as “Chefs Day,” their celebration has become a national tradition. Each year, they unite chefs, children, and partners for an experience filled with healthy food and community.

Tradition of Culinary Celebration in Albania

From their first event at the Hilton Garden Inn Tirana in 2018, the association has united chefs each year on this special day to showcase Albania’s culinary talent and engage with younger generations. Over the years, “Chefs Day” has evolved into an annual festival focused on education, inclusion, and the joys of cooking.

The 2018 edition marked the first time that the country’s National Team gathered after becoming a Worldchefs member. The day was filled with many activities, including cooking and an award ceremony. The festivities continued in 2019, with a day said to have been one that children will remember for a long time.

In 2020, the association hosted activities at Tirana’s New Market, dedicated to culinary exploration. Throughout the day, children had the opportunity to grow their passion for cooking and understand different gastronomic tastes. The children learned to cook traditional pancakes, preparing the dough and later decorating them in this hands-on workshop. By 2022, the event had grown. Still promoting the career of chefs, educating children about healthy eating and promoting local cuisine, the event now also included educational activities for a healthy lifestyle, including yoga exercises and an olive oil workshop.

The 2023 and 2024 editions marked two more successful years of Albanian chefs sharing their passion while teaching children how to cook and eat healthy. Chefs guided children through fun cooking sessions centered on the theme “Growing Great Chefs” underscoring their commitment to teaching good nutrition through experience.

This year, the Albanian Chefs & Cooks Association is once again leading by example. Their 2025 celebration will welcome children with Down syndrome to take part in culinary workshops and community festivities.

“It’s a great feeling because Chefs Day is the day for our chefs, to celebrate and do their best to promote healthy food for children. In Albania, we are doing just that,” says Asim Prengëzaj, Founder and President of the Albanian Chefs & Cooks Association.
“This year, we also will have a Chefs Night in collaboration with the Albania Bartender Association and Tirana Cocktail Bar, a wonderful way to close our celebration and unite the community.”

Asim Prengëzaj, President of the Albanian Chefs & Cooks Association

Mark Your Calendars for International Chefs Day 2023!

Mark Your Calendars: International Chefs Day is October 20th!

Nestlé Professional and Worldchefs are delighted to unveil the theme for this year’s International Chefs Day campaign, titled “Growing Great Chefs.” In memory of the Late Chef Dr. Bill Galagher, a visionary in the culinary world, this campaign aims to share our noble profession with children around the globe, inspiring little ones and the new generation of aspiring chefs.

International Chefs Day, celebrated on October 20th each year, brings together culinary professionals worldwide to promote the art and science of cooking. This year’s theme, “Growing Great Chefs,” provides a passion for mentoring young minds and nurturing culinary talent.

The campaign’s focus is to introduce children to the joys of cooking and the world of gastronomy through an array of engaging activities and educational resources. Nestlé Professional and Worldchefs have collaborated to create a comprehensive toolkit packed with innovative recipes, an interactive game, and a fun-filled approach to starting a garden.

The key to fostering culinary excellence lies in providing children with early exposure to the art of cooking. Through ‘Growing Great Chefs,’ we aim to ignite the imaginations of children, encouraging them to explore the wonderful world of flavors, textures, and cultures found in culinary arts.

The toolkit provided by Nestlé Professional and Worldchefs offers accessible and enjoyable ways to help children understand the intricacies of cooking. It includes recipes tailored for children, highlighting simple yet delicious dishes from various cultures. The matching game is designed to make learning about ingredients an exciting adventure.

Furthermore, the campaign emphasizes sustainability and responsible food practices by incorporating a gardening component. Children will learn about growing their ingredients, understanding the value of fresh produce, and connecting with nature through planting and nurturing their very own gardens.

Nurturing the culinary passions of young minds is a truly rewarding experience. We are proud to honor the legacy of the Late Dr. Chef Bill Galagher through this campaign, bringing joy and knowledge to children worldwide and fostering the development of future great chefs.

The “Growing Great Chefs” campaign promises to inspire curiosity, creativity, and a love for cooking among children from all walks of life. By sharing the joys of the culinary profession, Nestlé Professional and Worldchefs hope to leave a lasting impact on young hearts, nurturing the potential of future culinary leaders.

Being a chef can be a hectic life. However, even spending just 5 minutes or 2 hours with your child, a student, or another child in your community can make a positive impact. If you are busy on October 20th, consider taking some time on any other day in October to connect with them.

Please share with us your fun moments, workshop experiences, or the beginning of your garden by sending us your pictures and/or videos via email. Don’t forget to use the hashtags below. Join me and thousands of chefs in October by Preparing Children for a Healthy Life!
