What is International Chefs Day?

Introduced in 2004 by the very well esteemed Dr. Bill Gallagher, who was the incumbent President of the World Association of Chefs Societies, The International Chefs day is focused on “the power of the chefs’ jacket” – where chefs will get together to give back to the community, use the chance to advance the career of chefs and help change their local communities.

Each year, Worldchefs partners with Nestlé Professional to create different themes to help broadcast their mission.

This year, with the theme “Healthy Foods for Growing Up”,we want to encourage kids to think about what they would like to be when they grow up, and how eating healthy can get them there. The global community of chefs can make this positive influence!

International Chefs Day is coming soon: October 20, 2018 – Sign up here to be a Hero!

The new International Chefs day is coming soon!

We are pleased to invite all Chefs from the World to participate to our annual celebration of the International Chefs Day!

Last year’s event was a true success. We reached over 37 000 children in 55 countries. This was in a great part thanks to the commitment of 4,728 chefs who generously donated their time and energy, doubling the scope of the 2016 campaign!

Each year, on October 20th, Worldchefs and its members celebrate International Chefs Day. This important date goes hand in hand with an annual theme, aimed at giving pride and honour to the profession, while using the opportunity to make a positive change for chefs, their local communities and to make a difference in a young person’s life. Since 2015, in co-operation with Nestlé Professional, we have created and realized campaigns that foster healthy eating habits among children.

The time has come to reveal the International Chefs Day 2018 theme: “Healthy Foods for Growing Up”

Our theme for 2018 will encourage kids to think about what they would like to be when they’re grown up, and how eating healthy foods today can help them get there.

With your input, education and help, the kids will be able to prepare recipes of healthy foods, which will help turn them into the healthiest grown-ups they can be.

Worldchefs & Nestle Professional counts on YOU to make the world a better place for our kids!

Philippines and “Healthy Kids – Foods for Healthy Heroes” – International Chefs Day

November 2017, Philippines: International Chefs Day – “Healthy Kids – Foods for Healthy Heroes”

Dear Chefs and Members,

In commemoration of International Chefs Day 2017, LTB Philippines Chefs Association in cooperation with Nestlé Professional traveled to the town of Tanauan in Batangas, Philippines to celebrate the WorldChefs’ theme “Healthy Kids – Foods for Healthy Heroes” with over fifty (50) school children.

LTB Philippines partnered with Nestlé Professional Philippines and spent the day in Banjo East Elementary School last October 13, 2017. It was a day filled with fun activities & presentations about healthy eating with fruits & vegetables.

Together with LTB Philippines Chefs Fernando Aracama, Sito Senn, Michelle Adrillana, Mark Ledesma, Paulo Domingo, Cherrie Uy-Tan, Nestlé Chef Regina Acorda-Mendoza and the Philippine Young Chefs Club (PYCC) we demonstrated in the handling & presentation of fresh fruits & vegetables. The children were very enthusiastic & enjoyed the hands-on food preparation experience.

We would like to thank Nestlé Professional Philippines & the PYCC for celebrating the Healthy Kids activity of the Worldchefs International Chefs Day 2017 with the LTB Philippines Chefs Association!

Regards,

James Antolin

President

LTB Philippines Chefs Association
