Ours is a country full of inquisitive, skilled, creative and loyal people, working in a diverse economy stretching from the Atlantic coastline to the English border.

The Culinary Association of Wales was formed in 1993 and we secured full membership of Worldchefs at Worldchefs Congress in Kyoto Japan in 2002.

We are a very active member of Worldchefs and in 2017 we hosted the Worldchefs European Presidents Conference and in 2019 we hosted the Worldchefs Board Meeting.

Worldchefs Announces Partnership with Castello Monte Vibiano

Worldchefs Announces Partnership with Castello Monte Vibiano

  • Worldchefs has partnered with Castello Monte Vibiano, celebrated winemakers and producers of the world’s most awarded olive oil.
  • In 2009, Monte Vibiano was the first farm to be certified Zero CO2 emissions (DNV UNI ISO 14064).
  • Monte Vibiano’s Monodose-sized Vibianini EVOO Monodose Unfiltered preserves the integrity of the just-pressed, unfiltered extra virgin olive oil and provides a safe solution for restaurants reopening with new safety measures amid COVID-19.
  • Visit www.montevibiano.it and enter the promo code UNITE40 for 40% off of all purchases until July 31, 2020.

Paris, France · 18 June 2020 · Worldchefs, the World Association of Chefs’ Societies, is proud to announce its partnership with Castello Monte Vibiano.

Castello Monte Vibiano was established in 1898 by Antonio Sereni. Today, his great-grandson continues the family heritage of celebrated winemaking, award-winning olive oil production, and a commitment to the preservation of the lands of the estate.

Located in Umbria, affectionately known as the Green Heart of Italy, Monte Vibiano has a history of pioneering sustainability. In 2009, Monte Vibiano was the first farm to be certified Zero CO2 emissions (DNV UNI ISO 14064). Long before, over half a century ago, Il Dottore Andrea Fasola Bologna planted over 10,000 trees to surround the agricultural area on the estate.

Due to this visionary patience, today these trees have grown to become a majestic “Green Fence” occupying 31% of majestic property and protecting the vineyards and olive orchards from the environmental harm of man.

Monte Vibiano’s extra virgin olive oil is 100% genetically certified Italian and the most awarded olive oil in history. Just recently, they were awarded 4 Gold Awards at the New York International Olive Oil Competition.

Monte Vibiano launched Vibianini EVOO Monodose Unfiltered 22 years ago. Monodose-sized at 10ml to prevent oxidation and deterioration, the result delivers the fine characteristics and freshness of the just-pressed, unfiltered EVOO and matte green color. Each serving is packaged in a recyclable, glass monodose bottle, and is extremely easy to store and serve.

Now amid the global pandemic, their single-serving olive oil provides a safe solution to restaurants and diners around the world.

Lorenzo Fasola Bologna, owner of Monte Vibiano explains: “We are living in an unimageable world crisis. With restaurants facing restrictions and changes post COVID-19, some governments require restaurants to only serve monodose olive oil to their guests at the table.” He says, “I am proud that MVB can offer support to chefs by presenting what could be a solution for most of them, an exclusive 40% discount off our 10ml monodose of Vibianini EVOO.”

“Through Worldchefs’ partnership with Castello Monte Vibiano, all of our members can benefit from highly rewarded and valuable products,” says Thomas A. Gugler, President of Worldchefs. “We are delighted to join forces and bring them on as Corporate Partners.

Monte Vibiano has extended a special offer to the Worldchefs community. Members can receive with a special offer by visiting www.montevibiano.it and entering the promo code UNITE40 for 40% off of all purchases until July 31, 2020.

Standing for Equality and Inclusion: Message from the Worldchefs President

Standing for Equality and Inclusion: Message from the Worldchefs President

Paris, 15th of June 2020-

Dear Readers, Followers, Friends, Colleagues and People from all around the world,

I believe it is time to discuss what we have all been experiencing lately due to the COVID-19 global pandemic. This should be a sign to all of us on how to respect each other, our neighbors and the entire world population. It should also be a sign on how to  respect animals, creatures and Mother Earth.

We have all endured many months of pain, hard feelings, uncertainty, fear and a very unclear future has made us feel worried and scared.

All these are signs, which we should not ignore, however at times our character is hesitating, resistant and stubborn.

The COVID-19 global pandemic has cleared up a bit and some have moved on to the next crisis of racial conflict.

Can’t we all live peacefully together? It is very shameful for us as human beings, as we are the most advanced and intelligent creatures on the planet.

We are all born innocent. We are all the same and made by God the Almighty with a very short and limited time on earth.

What’s happening now? We are again seeing disrespect of other cultures, races, beliefs and genders around the world caused by ignorant people in some cases which are destabilizing the peace on earth due to non-acceptance of others.

Can the world not be the shining planet we are all dreaming of? Can we not be polite, humble and caring? Can we not be logical and understanding towards each other and our communities? Can’t we learn how to respect and tolerate others?

It’s time for changes and to work together to make the world a better place for all.

Say “Stop” to Discrimination! “Go” for Inclusion! and “Support Equality”!

Chefs, please go forward and show your friends, colleagues, neighbors and the world that we are ready to help make a change, to accept and support each other, to be wise and set examples for others to follow.

Life is too short to waste any second. Shape up and be the difference.

WORLDCHEFS is going into this direction with 110 member countries, millions of members globally, accepting all beliefs, races and cultures to be part of it.

I am counting on all the people who read this message to be willing to help build a better world! No discrimination, no mobbing, have tolerance, express wisdom, humor and peace in your mind and soul.

We need to ensure future generations will still be able to enjoy the beauty of each other and live peacefully on a healthy Mother Earth.

Written by a man who has traveled the world, visited 189 countries and speaks 9 languages.

Food for your thoughts,

Thomas A. Gugler

President

Worldchefs

Worldchefs Academy Helps Train & Upskill Cooks and Stewards in Papua New Guinea

Worldchefs Academy Helps Train & Upskill Cooks and Stewards in Papua New Guinea

Paris, 5th of June 2020 – Hilton Hotel Port Morsbey, one of the world’s first global hotel companies, celebrated 21 Cooks and Stewards for successfully completing the Pre-Commis Chef Course with Worldchefs Academy.

Hilton Hotel Port Moresby Executive Chef and Worldchefs Continental Director for Pacific Rim, Neil Abrahams stated, “We have now qualified 21 kitchen team members from the Worldchefs Academy and there are more to come. This is a great achievement for the industry here in Papua New Guinea and Hilton Hotel Port Morsbey, as this is a developing country and most cannot afford to upskill or attend a Vocational Training College.”

He further stated, “As an Executive Chef to have something like Worldchefs Academy available really assists me to train and upskill our staff and what is even more exciting is it’s FREE!!! Our next goal for the kitchen team is to qualify them as chefs with a trade certificate and have them achieve Worldchefs Global Certification.”

The Worldchefs Academy was created to give upcoming chefs a chance to learn the culinary basics needed to start a career in culinary arts.

The 21 Hilton Hotel kitchen team members, through the program portal, had access to a foundation level of culinary education providing them with the basics that set the standard for an entry-level job in a professional kitchen. The program is offered via a web-based platform offering an offline study mode, where they were able to complete the program.

Chef Abrahams further stated, “It is our duty while here in Papua New Guinea to upskill our kitchen team members and equip them with the skills needed to grow the Hospitality and Tourism Industry for the country. I am excited for the team to be part of Worldchefs Academy and Worldchefs, both recognized in over 110 countries around the world.”

Hilton Hotel General Manager John Lucas also congratulated the kitchen team and stated “Hilton is committed to training and upskilling its team members and will continue to reach out ensuring we as a hotel and a country are recognized on a global platform.”

Times of Crisis become Times of Opportunity in Mexico

Times of Crisis become Times of Opportunity in Mexico

Paris, 4th of May 2020 – “The times of crisis are times of opportunity as 126 Pre-Commis Chefs complete Worldchefs Academy free online course,” stated President Rodrigo Ibáñez Rojas of the National Association of Professional Chefs of Mexico A.C.

The arrival of COVID-19 in Mexico is one of the biggest challenges the hospitality industry has faced: tourists who cancel, restaurants with empty tables and closed travel agencies. However, the impact has reached many more areas that are indirectly involved in the industry: education.

Students from some universities in Mexico, convened by the National College of Professional Chefs of Mexico AC, carried out the first international online certificate and badge offered by Worldchefs Academy, created to standardize the level of knowledge and skills of cooks and chefs in a global context, which will allow them to better perform operational positions in any company in the industry around the world.

The food and beverage industry requires more and more chefs with globalized knowledge, so getting the training now will allow them to have additional resources that complement and reaffirm their skills and knowledge towards a level of excellence.

The result for this first occasion has been 126 new students receiving their Pre-Commis Chef certificates and badges.

We are hopeful that more students and professionals in the industry will be interested in this free program offered by Worldchefs Academy.
