Worldchefs Celebrates IKA/Culinary Olympics 2020
- From 14 to 19 February 2020, the 25th IKA/Culinary Olympics took place in Stuttgart, Germany. Worldchefs President Thomas A. Gugler opened the historic event.
- Over 1800 participants, including 110 teams and 67 Worldchefs Certified Judges from all over the world came together over the four days of the competition.
- Worldchefs Village, at the heart of the competition arena, witnessed community, comradery, and culinary delights throughout the event. Photos are available here.
Paris, 28th of February 2020 – From 14 to 19 February 2020, the 25th IKA/Culinary Olympics took place in Stuttgart, Germany. Worldchefs President Thomas A. Gugler opened the historic event to an audience of white jackets representing 67 countries. His speech is viewable here.
Over 1800 participants, including 110 teams and 67 Worldchefs Certified Judges from all over the world came together over the four days of the competition. Norway took home the gold medal. The official medal table can be found here with full results.

Amid the exciting atmosphere, Worldchefs announced the creation of Culinary Ability Awards Committee. Former Worldchefs President Dr. H. C. Siegfried Schaber was also presented with a VKD Life Achievement Award, handed out and given by President Gugler, recognizing Chef Schabers remarkable contributions to the industry.
Worldchefs offers utmost congratulations and appreciation to the organizer of IKA 2020, the Verband der Köche Deutschlands e. V. (VKD/German Chefs’ Association), as well as Messe Stuttgart, Dehoga Baden-Württemberg and numerous honorary VKD members that helped make the event a fantastic experience.
