L’Assiette Gourm’hand: Culinary Competition Dedicated to Professionals with Disabilities

The Assiette Gourm’Hand association, in partnership with the technical school Lycee Sainte-Marie de Bailleul (Hauts-de-France), is organising the 20th edition of the contest that has borne its name since 2003!

This competition, held under the patronage of the President of the French Republic, was set up to highlight the work of people with mental disabilities or mental health problems, providing catering services in sheltered workshops, inclusive restaurants or as part of a work-integration project.

It is also an opportunity to promote regional products. This pioneering and unique competition also seeks to encourage international encounters, in which foreign teams have been taking part since 2010.

The 2025 event will take place on Saturday 15 November from 7am to 6pm at the Lycee Professionnel Sainte-Marie in Bailleul. As in previous years, the teams will be judged by a panel of professionals from the culinary and medical/social professions, supported by the Académie Nationale de Cuisine (National academy of cuisine), the Société Nationale des Meilleurs Ouvriers de France (**) and a number of other culinary associations. A mentally disabled or psychologically disturbed person, coached by the training chief of your establishment, will have to prepare a vegetable dish based on pumpkin from the Hauts de France(name of our region), red onions from the Hauts de France, split peas, 400 grams of Edel de Cleron cheese (technical sheet attached) and nuts and/or oilseeds. The use of truffles, caviar, edible flowers, gold or silver leaf is strictly forbidden.

To register:

Please send the enclosed application form together with a letter of application or a short video (not more than 3 minutes) presenting the applicant’s motivations by the 15 June 2025 at the latest. The team selection will be confirmed by 30 June 2025 at the latest. The teams selected must then send us the final registration form before 21 July 2025. The participation fee for this competition is 20 Euros. An invoice will be sent to each team upon request. We look forward to receiving your reply.
