About the Host

Frode Selvaag, Sterling Chef and Worldchefs Judge
Chef Frode Selvaag has received multiple awards from his home country of Norway for his devotion to Norwegian food. He is now managing and cooking at his business Ryfylkekokken in Norway.
He has been a chef at the Royal Norwegian Embassy in Washington, DC , The Culinary Institute of Norway and several restaurants and hotels in Norway.
He gives masterclasses in traditional Norwegian Cuisine and seafood. He also trains kids and teachers at schools in tasting and everyday healthy food.
He promotes Norwegian Seafood worldwide. He was given the Norway Chefs Associations award Chef of the Year 2016.
He is a Judge of Worldchefs and member of the Jury in many Worldchefs Global Competitions, as well as. a member of the Norwegian Culinary Competition Committee.
He is Sterling White Halibut Academy’s official Sterling Global Chef and a true Norwegian Seafood ambassador. He has trained the competitors in how to prepare Sterling White Halibut in competitions like Global Chef, Bocuse d Òr and while holding masterclasses worldwide.
