About the Host
Domenico Maggi, Worldchefs Continental Director of Europe South
Domenico Maggi was born in 1953 and started working in the kitchen at the age of 15. He is a member of the FIC (Federation of Italian Cooks) since 1968 and started his working experience in several restaurants and hotels in Italy, Switzerland and UK. He served as the captain of the Italian National Culinary Team from 1997-2000. He is now internationally recognized as an Ambassador of Apulian and Italian Cooking, and has acquired over 40 years’ experience all over the world. He has participated in many events promoting the cooking of Italy and Puglia in China, the USA, Brazil, Australia and all over Europe. He has received prestigious awards in cooking competitions in Italy and abroad.
James Sanders, Sous Chef
James Sanders was born in Italy 10 years ago loves being with his nonno both in the kitchen and in the garden growing vegetables. He started playing in the kitchen with his grandfather when he was only 3 years old. During the first Italian lock-down in 2020 he started recording videos of typical Mediterranean recipes and has carried on ever since. In his free time he attends the elementary school in Locorotondo in southern Italy!
He enjoys playing football, climbing trees and practicing parkour.
