120 Provincial Associations, 20 Regional Unions, numerous Foreign Associations and Delegations, counting every year an average of 20,000 associates among Professional Cooks, Chef Patrons, Restaurateurs, Professors and Students of Hotel Institutes of all levels. All this and more is the “Italian Federation of Chefs” (FIC), the only body in this category that boasts such a widespread diffusion and associative network throughout the country.
Founded in 1968 by adhering associations (some of which had exceeded 200 years of foundation and were born in the past as brotherhoods, guilds or mutual aid companies of “cooks”), it obtained in 2001 the “Legal Recognition” as a body the representation, on the national territory, of the cooks and of those who dedicate themselves to the professional culinary activity, supporting their development, promotion and training. Furthermore, the FIC is the only Chef Association in Italy to represent by right the “ World Association of Cooks Societies” (WACS), to which more than 70 National Federations of the five continents belong.
