Europe Regional Global Chef Challenge winners crowned in Prague!

Paris, France: The Regional European Global Chefs Challenge finals took place recently in Prague, Czech Republic. The competition was intense and the nine winners earned their victories through dedication, hard work and of course extraordinary skill, winning coveted spots for the Global Chefs Challenge finals, taking place in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in July 2018 as part of the hallmark biennial Worldchefs Congress & Expo.

Winners were allocated in the categories of Global Chefs, Pastry Chefs and Young Chefs for the regions of North, Central and South Europe.

In North Europe; Aleksander Vartdal of The Norwegian Chefs Association took the title of Regional Young Chef. Frida Bäcke of the Swedish Chef Accociation claimed the Regional Pastry Chef title, and Regional Global Chef went to Robbie Penman of The Federation of Chefs Scotland.

From Central Europe, the Young Chef regional winner was Sandra Hofer from the German Chefs Association (VKD). Pastry Chef Regional title went to Anna Maczák, and Global Chef to Balázs Adamek – both hailing from the Hungarian National Gastronomic Association.

In South Europe, all regional winners came from the Nazionale Italiana Cuochi – Federazione Italiana Cuochi – Young Chef, Andrea Tiziani, Italy; Pastry Chef, Marco Deidda, Italy, Global Chef, Francesco Cinquepalmi.

The Global Chefs Challenge Series is where the world’s best chefs meet to compete. All competitors must first go through national selection before moving on to regional semi-finals in seven regions around the globe. Regional winners then advance to the world stage to compete for top honours at the Worldchefs Congress and Expo, a don’t miss bi-annual global event attended by chefs from more than 100 countries.
